Walk slowly through the day,
take care of yourself, do not count on harm,
things lost are now a small waste to retrieve,
even the ocean is messy, let it teach you to trust
so you may know how to heal, to measure time’s
imperative like water slipping through hands
Stay warm. Quench your thirst and eat sparingly
Work for what you eat, foraging as do the wrens
Be ready to sharpen your beak, look to the skies
Do not regret, the road may not be forgiving
It is only in the moment that you are, you see it all
from this height, hovering, hovering, dark wingbeats
the words will speak for themselves,
Walk slowly through the dream.
