I wish I was chill

I wish I was chill
sometimes my thoughts are landfill
childhood was netball and divorce
watched Saddle Club but never rode a horse
maybe there’s a life unlived
where I settle down and have kids
resenting some guy called Trent
for spag bol residue on Tupperware lids
I wish I was chill
someone lock me in a cabin at the top of a hill
there are people in the world with bigger issues
today’s worst moment was making a tampon
out of tissues
is it the world cooking my aura
or has my aura always been this cooked?
I’m just a fig with some deep-seated trauma
horse girls are always overlooked
I want to make people laugh
I want everyone feeling fine’
the last time I remember being chill was reading
Dragonology in the library at lunchtime
I wish I was chill
but is anyone actually chill?
Write a poem that begins with a minor inconvenience and spirals into a full existential crisis.

What a great question. I mean like, shit, I've never even thought about it. It means everything. I mean, everything I love kind of is poetry. Pure-form poetry I love, but also music, lyrics, dialogue, everything. I think everything I love is poetry. I also love that I've always just been a fan of writing poetry in my spare time because, you know, just getting the thoughts out! Just getting the thoughts out! I like that there's rules but there's really not any rules. I love consuming it and I love writing it and then I love also not showing anyone the poetry I've written that's just absolutely bonkers and it's like, what the hell? Girl chill. Chill out. But yeah it's just probably one of my favourite things in the world actually, I'm getting emotional, hopefully this answers okay. It means everything. That is my answer.
