 A common object uncommonly viewed

Tall and thin it stands

quite bulbous at base to hold

a yellow slow moving viscous substance

which catches on concave confines

as it glides across and down

and side to side when held in hands

a flat bottom to sit on surface beneath

smooth to touch and cold in mornings

warm if left in sun

on top a join, a smaller bulb that when pulled detaches

a tunnel now appears leading to yellow liquid

when tipped it slides a slow moving river when cold

as day warms so too the liquid

faster it’s travel down long slender neck to an ever certain

drop
