Teela Reid is a proud Wiradjuri & Wailwan woman, rebellious lawyer, storyteller and co-founder of @blackfulla_bookclub, an Instagram platform that celebrates First Nations Ancestors as the original Storytellers.

Teela is the inaugural First Nations lawyer in residence at Sydney Law School and a Senior Solicitor in Aboriginal Land Rights. In 2022, she was awarded the Indigenous Leader of the Year at the Australian Law Awards and the inaugural Marie Claire ‘Voice of Now’ Woman of the Year.

Teela is an established writer with ground-breaking essays published in the Griffith Review and opinion editorials in the Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian, National Indigenous Times, Washington Post and Bloomberg America.

Her debut novel, Legally Blak, will be released in 2024.
