Tricia Dearborn is an award-winning Sydney poet, writer and editor. Her third full-length collection, Autobiochemistry (UWA Publishing), and She Reconsiders Life on the Run (an International Poetry Studies Institute Chapbook) were released in 2019. Her previous collections are The Ringing World (Puncher & Wattmann, 2012) and Frankenstein’s Bathtub (Interactive Press: Emerging Poets Series, 2001).

Her work has been widely published in literary journals in Australia, internationally and online, and is represented in anthologies including The Anthology of Australian Prose Poetry (MUP, 2020), The Best Australian Science Writing 2019 (NewSouth), Contemporary Australian Poetry (Puncher & Wattmann, 2016), Australian Poetry since 1788 (UNSW Press, 2011) and The Best Australian Poems 2012 and 2010 (Black Inc.). She has had work commissioned by Red Room Poetry, Australian Poetry Journal and Cordite Poetry Review, among others.

Dearborn’s awards include four New Work grants from the Australia Council for the Arts, and a Residential Fellowship at Varuna, the Writers’ House. She was a judge of the 2019 University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor’s International Poetry Prize, and the first Australian invited to be a Poet in Residence at the international Poetry on the Move Festival (2019).

She has been an invited reader and panellist at the Sydney Writers’ Festival, the Queensland Poetry Festival and the Newcastle Writers’ Festival, among other literary events. She has acted as guest poetry editor for literary journals including Rabbit: a journal for non-fiction poetry (Issue 31, The Science Issue, 2020), Not Very Quiet (Issue 5, Earth Poems, 2019) and Plumwood Mountain (vol. 3, no. 1, 2016). She is also a founding editorial board member of Plumwood Mountain, an online journal of ecopoetry and ecopoetics.
