I’m bored… but you like it, don’t you?

What if a film never reaches the screen because viewers walk away?
– Susan Howe
I don’t want to feel like a tourist.
– Claire Denis
the subtitles in your dreams are not language
they make you absent-minded, drowsy
a third chain awakens in the process
unfortunately, it is not available in this region
the available region is a photocopy machine
lights up when you lay down
waits for you in arrivals
sets up the shot in an entryway
how to capture a frame
to filter the contents of shared existence
cups of warm liquid poured out for both of us
we tilt the lip to our lips without speaking
what we missed after only watching the first twenty minutes of the movie:
circular traces burnt into the skin of the film
an elaborate scene of violent motion
unspecified sobbing on the edge of a bed
we exercise our faith
you talk to me in air, I look at you with liquid
I prefer to call my beloved a foot-candle
with tenderness, you coil an heirloom around my neck
