A Fastening Friendship

A special bond I have with you,
A special bond we have it's true;
Reminder of a friendship once had,
The happy memories and the sad;
You were the lock upon her cage,
Until she reached her final stage.
The sickness started with the loss of fur,
Then taken from us too soon you were.
A tragic ending of Myxomatosis Virus,
Left my heart both broken and desirous;
I remember the last time I saw her little face,
And the way it made my heart change pace.
I will never forget you my little bunny,
Never forget you my rabbit named Honey.
With this lock our friendship stays strong,
And forever and ever it goes on;
It helps to fill a spot in my heart,
From something I once had to part.
Now I hope, I've helped you see,
How a simple padlock, can mean the world to me.
