Walking along the soft warm sand, the waves crashing against the shore like a giant stomping in the sea.
As I walk further and further, the sand seems to get hotter and hotter and soon it feels like an oven on its hottest setting.
A final crash of waves produces a shell on this long deserted beach of happiness,
Closer and closer I get to the shell. I stare at it but from this angle i can’t make out what it is,
I pick it up carefully, making sure it doesn’t break.
i hold it close to my ear, it starts to tell me a story about how it got to this side of the world.
Deep,Deep under the sea this ancient creature moves,
Whales brushing past him as he rises above the water,
He spins in the sky then comes back down landing with a splash in the sea.
Getting pushed around by other sea creatures and hiding from it’s predators.
It’s curved shell might get in the way but at least it keeps him safe,
It’s home.
Waves send him gliding onto the sand, this little ancient creature full of hope and thoughts,
I took the fossil away from my ear. it filled me with happiness and I know I have to take this treasured fossil home.
