A kookaburra's day

I wake up to a beautiful sunrise
Rustle my feathers and start to cackle,
Kookoo Kaakaak
then suddenly kookoo kaakaa my friends are up
The dew on the ground gives me hope
For a delicious breaky.
I start to rise and I lift off and swoop
The lady in the garden has aroused the worms
I head back up with a wriggly worm and start,
I smash its head on the branch below me
GULP it is gone.
I spot a child walking by, they have a chip
In their mouth and the rest are in the bucket
I swoop down and take the bucket
GULP and they are gone.
It is nearly dusk, nearly time to say,
“Goodnight and thanks for the food”
A final sound off to wrap up the day
Kookoo kaakaa kookoo kaakaa
