A life in the pines

Soggy moss all over the ground
thin fog fills the air
trickles of water landing in small pools of water
the whooshes of the wind, curving through the tall trees
bumpy trees with small squirrels eating their midnight feast
small burrows with small critters inside sleeping through the night
slowly the thin fog disappears in the morning sun
animals wake up, squirrels start the hunt for more nuts
the flowers blossom in the morning sunlight
light shimmers on the tiny pools of water formed by the midnight rain
the fog thickens, all the animals hide as hikers roam through the foggy terrain
they run around observing the site, lakes and rivers in sight
they continue to climb
the animals come out of hiding, then they start thriving
they continue to live their life all the way up in the pines.
