A Reminder

It was like any other necklace
hanging in the store,
But I saw something different,
something even more.

Its simplistic design:
that’s what everyone would see.
But they haven’t realised
it means so much more to me.

It reminds me of the stars,
on our Arkaroola trip.
Pointing out the alignments,
it makes my heart skip.

Now it lies on my shelf
with my collection of jewellery.
It stays there waiting,
a simple reminder, just for me.
