Sapphire water washes over blushing corals

With hints of rust and red.

Brightly speckled fish swim throughout

Soft cloudy anemones.

A single turtle glides through

Green blades of dancing seagrass.

Its patterned shell, a carving of

Distant memories.

Calm and perfection are however shattered.

A threatening curse brings destruction and devastation.

Strangled and suffocated, no longer able

To reach the surface for a breath.

The turtle sadly endures a painful death.

It is time to act, to end this annihilation.

To stop cruelty to animals.

The ancient, gentle, giant creatures

Cannot become extinct.

Ban the plastic, take the

Steps, restore harmony to our oceans.
