A Slaughter Of Trees

The trees come crashing down
The animals scramble hurriedly
The workers stab the knife into the body
And the trees come crashing down
The buildings rise and rise
While the trees are pushed back
The humans kill and murder
And slowly the trees fall, one by one
The humans keep the slaughter
Until finally there is only one left
This tree watches and waits
As one by one its brother falls down
It stands throughout the cold and chilly rains
And stands through the ruthless drought
It continues its watch, day and night
Until its watch has ended
This cycle continues throughout
But this time was different
But this time they will remember
They will remember
