The rustling of leaves is subtle in my ears

As I gaze at the swaying of the trees.

Warmth fills my body, the sun shines gloriously,

My hair is tickled by the summer breeze.

Flowers bloom, after lying in wait,

Hidden from the treacherous cold.

Petunias turn a vibrant pink, complimenting

The sunflowers’ yellow gold.

Birds chirp in the morning, as a reminder of a new day,

Flying through nature’s creation.

Vivid colours appear under the azure blue sky,

Welcoming a new summer to the population.

Animals roam free alongside humans,

The creation in harmony.

Clouds soar over land and sea,

Glistening the silver-white of antimony.

And at last the creation is at peace,

Rejoicing for a new season.

How wonderful is a summer’s day

That gives a celebratory reason.
