A Turtle's Hope

The waves tumble onto the shore as she emerges from the ocean.

She stumbles across the beach, secretly tucks away in the tiny grains and starts to dig a hole.

Under the patch of sand, there lays a pile of speckled eggs.

She has never seen anything so exquisite in her life. She is determined to protect them.

As she delicately lies on the shore, she waits unobtrusively in the warm sunlight.

Aware of the danger around her, she covers the trench and drags the sand over the eggs.

Dashing to the water’s edge, she looks back and wishes luck to the ravishing eggs,

hoping that they survive in the treacherous seas.
