A world of color

All on my own, embraced in nature.

I run, taking sight of flaring scarlet azaleas, opening out to the world.

Ocean blue petals, dancing in the wind,

Accompanied by a silent willow, a jungle of green.

The nature of the wild, howling, breathing through the earth.

I continue to walk, closing my eyes and breathing in the scenery.

Then I see.

Huge hulking machinery, pumping out gaseous fumes.

The ground shakes, great machines hewing trees without hesitation.

Trees fall around me.

I shout for them to stop, but they cannot hear me.

What good will one voice do?
