A World of My Own

On this particular day, I can really feel the heat
Oh, how I want to jump into the cool, clear creek 
As I look up to see, all the vibrant coloured leaves
Surrounding me, is a canopy of trees

I feel calm and happy, like I’m floating on a cloud
I can be anyone here, I can sing out loud
I wish I could stay here forever and ever
I try to come down to the creek whenever

The trickling of the water, the ripples from a rock
A dragonfly like an angel, watching over me
Laying in the water, floating down the stream
Falling into paradise, wrapped up in a dream

So far from noise and the orchestra of life
The sound of car horns and chaos and questions
I feel the welcoming water wash it all away
And then I feel myself coming back to this day
