Aestas papilio

The corroboree frog jumps on the steady leaf,
And gives a spiteful glare,
To the other animals in the tree,
And signals to beware.
A burst of sunlight through the canopy,
Shows the silhouette of a fritillary butterfly,
It dances down to the leaves,
Delicate with every step,
Its gentle wings resting so elegantly,
As it perches in the tree.
Ants work as a team,
And arrange an orderly que,
They pass and pass and pass,
Until their food is safe,
At home.
As the sun fades behind the horizon,
The tree grows soft and silent,
The animals retreat,
Till the morning sun arises.
