Ours was the tree where the rope swing hung

Ours was the wooden fence that we used as a bench

And ours were the times that we played pretend

You were the dad and I was the daughter

Or you as Tarzan and me as Jane

But not anymore…

Not anymore will we hear the leaves

Whisper to the wind and share secrets with bees

I can still go but it’s a bit strange

Because people grow old and unfortunately change

We grew up in that place and even though it’s been years since

That place, the tree and the fields

Will always remain in a special place

Down in the depths of my heart

Always, always and forever
