An Ugly End

Temperatures rise,
Ancient oaks dying; begging,
Please, just one year more.
These timeless treasures,
Nature’s beautiful glories,
Reduced to ashes.
Plagues and massacres,
Hundreds of decades endured,
Yet this is the end.
Plastic and phones,
Caring lost to history.
What of the future?
Will concrete cities,
Replace untouched wilderness?
Watch as it happens.
As our forests burn,
Crocodile tears cried,
By those in power.
Generations born,
Who might never live like me,
Carefree in nature.
Change must happen now,
Saving the innocent Earth,
That we wrecked so well.
Protest your own way.
Be the change you want to see,
Before it’s too late.
