Autumn Forest Walk

Walking through trees, amongst dappled light,
Wondering what beauty the forest has in sight.
Colourful leaves scarlet, saffron and brown,
Twirling, whirling, floating down.
A kaleidoscope of colours scattered upon the ground
Ready to be stacked in one big mound.
Creatures crawling amidst the leaves,
Birds soaring high in the chilly breeze.
Trickling water, a relaxing sound.
It calms my mind during this lockdown.
Mother Nature has provided this land,
In return, to protect it we must lend a hand.
Leaving the forest, the branches sway
Encouraging me to return some day.
