Autumn in the forest

Moss covers the trees and ground

Like a wet blanket all around

Leaves that crunch as we walk

Birds leaving for winter listen to them talk

Animals enjoying the crisp cool air

butterflies dancing vibrantly with flair

I look up and see the trees reaching out, whispering

Telling secrets, you shall never know

In autumn the forest has so many serene things to adore

When the cold months arrive I cherish them before they are no more
