Barn Doors

As the frost fills the air
The old barn doors slowly creek open
I hear the huff of our new stead
He is still scared of his new surroundings
The doors close with a bang
He spooks easily
Yet I remain calm -
Stroking his mane,
Calming him down,
I slowly climb onto his back
He finally trusts me.
