When fire leapt from tree to tree,

Leaving no trace of life behind,

Nothing was left,

But lying there burnt,

And hurt,

Silently pleading for someone to find them,

Among the flames,

And in the ash,

Some were saved,

Some were not,

Some escaped through the pain,

Some had to say goodbye to home,

Among the trees that are now ash,

And beneath the reeds drowning in flames,

But it's up to us,

To rebuild their lives,

Soon life will sprout through the ash,

And erase the terror,

The terror of the black summer.
