Bodyboarding

The darkness, shrouded by light.
Curves and channels flow top to bottom.
A thin, snow-like layer of wax,
all that helps me down the sheer-faced waves.
Mountainous waves battle the shore as the tide retreats,
I am stuck amidst it.
My knight in shining armour saves me,
the clear, glistening bicep strap.
The curly strap saves the board from firing like a cannon.
The smooth, sky blue slick slides through the water,
as swift as a silent vulture, swooping for its prey.
Rough darkness covers the channelled deck,
like staring into the ominous depths of the night.
My skills grow and my tricks improve,
360s to inverts.
Constant splashing as I lie on the board,
battling the colossal wave.
Nothing compares to the exhilaration that occurs.
Escape from the world
