Slithering and swaying,

Wriggling in the sand,

Head arching up,

Tail flicking,

Skin is dry and dusty,

Swirling yellow scales,

With deep, dark black,

The broad headed snake,

Silent and deadly,

It paralyses its victim,

Deadly venom,

To catch its prey,

Lizards, geckos, mice, frogs and birds,

Run for their life,

Camouflaged in the dust,

Quickly it slithers,

But their home is being destroyed,

‘Bush back’ the snakes yell,

Into roads and houses and gardens,

People are taking their homes.
