Build vs Destroy

Do you choose to stand and support the trees,

Or cut them down relentlessly like a disease,

Plant them with kindness and gentleness,

Or destroy them by exploiting their weakness,

Let them tower majestically above us,

Build them stronger, why make a fuss,

They give us oxygen into the atmosphere,

Then we crush them beneath our gear,

So why do we continuously kill our only chance at life,

So why do we continue this deranged strife,

When we look back in the years to come we will feel despair,

Who will come to be the heir who saves us, who will be that heir,

Who will save us when we are on the brink of extinction,

Why do we not even see the simple distinction,

Between how we act and what we say.
