Coughing and wheezing from the smoke,

trapped within a ring of fire,

burning.

My arms struggle, shuffle and shudder,

but the flames do not falter, steadily

burning.

Those around me charred to death,

the embers edging closer still, wrathfully

burning.

I'm shaking in my roots,

the inferno baking my skin, I'm nearly

burning.

The time is up,

my legs alight, now

burning.

My head's ablaze,

the fire victorious, I'm

burnt.
