Bushfire

Leaves lay limp,
times lay dry,
ashes, embers sparking out the midnight sky.
Kookaburras left with nothing but each other.
Fire flickered, fire crept, it left nothing but bark, burning, breaking to the brown dirt.
Bark lay burnt.
Birds lay dead.
All this damage from one flame.
Trees licked by tongues of fire,
ashes lay blak,
embers lay red,
Fire flickered, fire crept like a bird's bare wings these daring flames left nothing but kookaburras dead.
