Bushfires and the Trees

Trees are supposed to be silent
No one knows how loud it can be
Flowers burning, screaming in pain
The sounds of leaves engulfed in flame combines with shouts of despair
Trees ravaged by heartless blazes
Merciless flames scorching my whole world
It hurts. It really hurts
And then it is over
And it is silent, the plants spared from the blaze struck with worry, anxiety and grief
And at last,
I realise just how much I miss the noise.
