Casuarina towers up in the sky,
An eerie glow, a look of sci fi.
The bulbous spiky seeds rest up in the leaves,
A cannon, ready to fire with a slight breeze.
Needle thin leaves, the echidna of trees, Flowers pollinated by bees.
The monolith of the botanical field,
To it, many a smaller plant yields.
Black cockatoos nestle in the leaves, eating,
While the people down below are meeting.
The golden sun beats down, pumping the blood of the earth,
Giving to humans and animals alike, the gift of birth.
