Coober Pedy's Opals

The outback has a secret,
when the sun scorches the sky,
people hide underground
to save them from the temperatures so high
and what outstanding opals they found

The colours of the opals,
are like the desert after rain,
with the red sand, and the green shoots of life,
too glorious to explain!

Richer and richer the people became,
and they also became a town,
Coober Pedy was it's name.
