Cutting Trees Down

Why, oh, why
Do you cut down trees?
Dead, that's what they are now
Just because of you.
I walk off alone
Down dark laneways
When I get home, I cry myself to sleep
The next day, I wake
To the sound of a chainsaw's roar
It hurts me even more.
Trees bring us every breath
Just for you to take them to their death.
You cut them down with anger
But my rage will raise higher
Trees reach out and call to their neighbours
That you are coming.
Their body is burning and humming
You're ruining nature all day, every day
But that's just not the way
