Daffodils are like my home in Ireland. So far away
But super close to my heart.
It reminds me of the days when I was so young,
Daffodils would make my day.
With its beautiful petals, glowing in the sun.
I would walk home from school, whilst picking daffodils with my mum.
When I reached my home, I would put the daffodils in a vase full of water
The flowers in the vase would sit by my window looking out into the sun.
But when winter came, the daffodils would go away.
I would have to wait till summer comes again,
Where they will grow once more. But it can be a long wait,
But in the middle of all that wait the snow will come.
I will have some more fun,
Without the sun. But when the sun starts to show,
I will walk past the daffodils starting to grow.
More waiting will come,
But it won’t be a waste of time.
But when they do come it will start again,
From when I was walking home with
my mum!
