The ship jolted and crashed,

The hull got quite bashed,

Water went in and oil out,

Killing all the nearby trout,

The oil stuck to birds’ feathers,

The government put in no safety measures,

The oil spread up the long river,

When I watched it made me shiver,

The sharks and eels weren’t alive,

No marine life could survive,

No creature deserved this,

If only the tanker could have missed,

Boats tried to help,

The only option was to fix the scalp,

But inside I knew,

This disaster would kill quite a few.
