Daydreaming

The bell has rung and class begins, I am so tired my head spins.
I look out the window just to calm my soul, I become distracted as the teacher calls the roll.
I'm at a beach, waves crashing along the shore, I turn around in wonder, it's time to explore.
I dive down deep not knowing where to go, there is life that blossoms down below.
I rise to the surface, the sun smiles down on me, forgetting my problems I’m finally free.
Back on the shore, I take a walk further mainland, my trail unfolds before me, my destination... unplanned.
The tall trees block the sunlight, it's getting harder to see, I get really scared, I feel someone’s watching me.
A twig breaks, I freeze mid-pace, I start running while saying “go to your happy place”.
I’m on a mountain peak, snow falling slowly, I stand atop the mountain feeling very lonely.
The view is gorgeous and breathtaking, but my cold hands are shaking.
I find a small cave that transports me somewhere new, where the sky is nothing but clear and blue.
Rolling hills of flower fields, colours of blue, yellow, red, in the middle of the field stood a tiny, wooden shed.
The old oak door opens and I step inside, I’ve come to the end of this emotional ride.
Little did I know I was totally wrong, I was in a world where birds sing sad songs.
A dull sky holds thick, grey clouds, people hurry along in big crowds.
Not a tree in sight, no sun visible in the sky, cars vomiting fuel drive nearby.
The world is broken and nature is dying, seeing the world like this makes me feel like crying.
I love the sea, the sky, the hills, all of nature, they give me pleasure beyond all measure.
I need to snap out of this and get back to school, nothing is working this is definitely uncool.
Then I hear a voice, it's one of my friends, calling me to reality, my dreaming ends.
