Why do dead birds look so sad?

They are scattered across the road

Their wings salute the sky,

Languishing like the subject of a Renaissance painting

Their heads tilt silently, beaks pointing towards what they lost,

the sky

Feathers, composition of woven cobwebs

Ants in rivers on a map, greeting the carcass, to one win comes a loss

Bleary eyes, fallen creatures glisten like they have been crying.

They look sad, probably because they're dead.

Where do the birds go when it rains?

How far did the bird fly before it came onto the road?

Departing, then departed, wasted prey of metal beast

I imagine birds like flying,

Then again many humans are not walking enthusiasts

Sometimes you hear them, and don’t know where they’re coming from

Where do birds go when it rains?

Birds don’t deserve to die, but they die all the time

Birds die and humans forget, humans die and humans forget

Don’t forget, they can't remind you

keep yourself busy, with dead birds
