Dear Diary

When there is nothing left to burn you must set yourself on fire,
What is life if not the burning of heart’s desires?
Try to write it down and ignite a spark,
Write the words down with all my heart.
Dear diary, today it happened again,
Dear diary, as tears stream to hit my pen,
Lightly a thud, thud, thud,
Don’t smear my words then.
But my words are nothing if my mind is blind,
Holds nothing but the memories of the night,
Maybe if I hold on it'll be alright,
Hold on to those words like jeans tight.
It comforts me with its spicy pages,
Seems to smile below at me,
It holds memories, days, rages,
Seems to make the days worth it.
My diary's pages smooth and warm,
Holds all my memories torn,
All my memories forlorn,
And all worth of scorn.
My diary sweet and old,
The life of memories that it holds.
