Dear Greenery

Dear Greenery,
Oh greenery, as dead as a corpse,
Where was your once beautiful land?
Your grassy, watery fields,
Your soft, honey scent,
Our water had been tanned.
The trees bellow at the slicing of wood,
Where was the green, grassy land that I lived once on?
The mellow sound of wildlife,
Is this for the scorching hot sun?
Melting away off our world.
A plain, brown, dirt road,
Where are the big, oak trees?
The cold, damp mud,
The water isn’t even clean.
Oh greenery, why did you abandon us?
Oh greenery, where are you now?
