Desert walk

The hush-hush wind blowing past our faces
Tumbleweed rolling to far off places
Thorny devils crossing the plains
While dingo pups are playing games
Feel the warm, yellow sand
Trickling slowly through our hands
So hot, our mouths are drying out
No water because of the drought
Wait, can I smell the rain
It feels like it will never fall again
