Blessed beyond all strays.

So poor yet so happy today.
So lonely with rib bones sticking out
and with one ear half chewed up,
also a swarm of flies around it.

Sitting on my old house’s driveway
only at the age of six months old.
When Daddy went outside for a cigarette
there she was all alone.

Dad and Mum gave her some food
then took her to the hospital.
Now she’s safe asleep
waiting at home for me.

She will always be with me,
doesn’t matter what.
