Dingos

I rolled around  in the dusty dirt, having a great time. 

All of a sudden,

I heard the safety catch of a gun.

I peered through the gum trees,

only to find a giant aim

from afar in the camouflaged bushes.

I stared back at the human,

could almost see the evil glint in their eyes.

I danced on the hot, red sand to try run away from it.

Sand glittered in the sun like diamonds,

as the human slowly followed me. 

I wished that I can get home safe to my cubs.

I wish.

Within a blink of an eye,

 a whole group of humans appeared and surrounded.  

I was feared.
