Diplodocus

Blunted spikes, safe feeling
As shaded as a professional sketch
Diplodocus, with me for as long as I can remember
Taken with me constantly
Blunted spikes like much-used pencils
As wrinkled as an elephant
Correcting people who call it otherwise
Diplodocus, reminds me of my youth
Its tail is a lasso
As grey as the sky on a stormy day
Diplodocus, smells like home
A friend that comforts me
Sounds like someone tapping on a door
Neck as long as a giraffe's own
My Diplodocus, my happiness
