Disintegrating

Disintegrating…
I trudge through the long grass,
it skims over my knees,
spring has sprung.
Butterflies fly freely in the endless sea of the blue sky,
flowers bloom from the field of grass.
Lavish prickly green leaves surround a pale pink coloured blossoming flower.
Dewdrops of nectar lay in the center,
small bulb shaped flowers that are yet to bloom.
Thin, beetroot coloured stalks branch out and hold the flowers high.
A bee lands right in the center of the flower,
beams of glowing radiance shine on the bee
as the Verticordia Apecta sits beneath.
Waving in sync with the wind,
Verticordia Apecta, you look around to see all the other flowers striving,
in bunches while this one flower stands. Alone,
amongst this never ending field of grass.
You take the time to think about this moment,
why was this one flower standing here alone in a field of grass?
Once in abundance, now isolated far from others.
See we never take in the full beauty of nature
as we take it for granted. This is why nature
is disintegrating… Scientific Name - Verticordia Apecta Name -
Scruffy Verticordia / Hay river feather flower
