I’m an adult Koala 8 years old,
I’ve got a furry collar so I never get cold,
I love to eat eucalyptus leaves,
But thieves steal all my trees,
Who would think,
My name means no drink,
I might look very lazy,
You might think that but you’re crazy,
It takes a lot to keep me fed,
Night and day while you are in bed,
I eat and eat just to get full,
I tell you this it is no bull,
If I disappear you will feel regret,
I hope you wouldn’t forget,
I’m important for diversity,
To see me sitting high in a tree,
Living safety in the bush,
So you can visit me when you are not in a rush,
So think about us while you go about your day,
Or your grandchild may never say,
“Koalas are as Australian as vegemite”,
We are worth it so don't give up the fight.
