Feathers like molten silk

Covered the double-barred finch

Beauty praised its claws

As it gnaws

With speckles along its hind

Its beady slits looked into souls

Desperate to bring hope

Because those piercing eyes have seen

The monstrosities

Shown as the wetlands sheds its tears

And distressed warbling fills the ears

Hopefully of those
That need to pay heed

To the birds and seeds

Because when we destroy this earth

Where will they roam?
