Down by the River

Down by the river the kookaburra calls,
down by the river the willow tree falls,
the rushing river, the white gum trees,
beautiful flowers, and buzzing bees,
the swirling sand, the river bank,
sunbeams running to my skin,
ducks and cockatoos,
koalas and kangaroos,
ringtails and thrushes,
down by the rushes,
swinging from the branches,
doing their funny dances,
eating gum leaves,
sleeping in the trees,
rainbow flocks in the air,
flying without a care,
I taste honeysuckle, the water is cool on my skin,
the smell of the lavender calms me, this place is like my den,
down by the river the kookaburra calls,
down by the river the river the willow tree falls.
