As beasts come out of the shadows, The gleaming red eyes full of riddle,
Walked past the border, past the meadows, Fear strikes the heart, don’t fiddle.
Lurking through the foliage, Regretting in despair,
Tingling spines, like voltage, Time is beyond repair,

A twist, a turn, gnarled branches, Swift movement, all unseen,
The victim also blanches, Jaws clamp where living had been.
Snuffed out in an instance, No sound did it make,
Whimpering was it in the distance, The beasts claw the wake.

Should have run towards safety, But chose a gruesome end,
As frozen in fear was plenty, There will be no amend.
Fear is struck like lightning, After every despairing night,
The beasts roam so frightening, The world is dim, no longer bright.

These terrors of the dark, Walk among the towering gloom,
They come without remark, For it is certain doom.
