Ear Diamonds

Intricate, round, diamond,
The size of the smallest broach,
Like a pin made of the purest silver,
The two halves cannot be separated.
Tasting flavoursome and expensive,
Radiating memories,
Not even a blip would it make if dropped,
So conduct your actions with caution, care and kindness.
“I love you my dear”,
It would whisper when calmly called upon,
“Wear me will you, and when we are through,
Treasure this beautiful heirloom.”
“Tell your grandchildren of our adventures,
And how I gracefully came to you,
For you were only an infant,
Baby hands just as fragile as I.”
“Speak of the days, that are still a haze,
For you were only one or two,
These ear diamonds form your great-grandfather,
only for you.”
