Leaves flutter, loosely attached to the tree above,

slowly drifting, drifting down.

I stroll towards the forest near,

until I reach the great tree, my nature parent.

A mighty eucalyptus tree towers above me

protecting me from evil nature and spirits.

I sit down, pressing my back to my protective tree,

feeling its love flow through my heart.

The slow breeze glides past me,

filling my ears with the calming wave of the leaves whistling above.

It envelops me with a feeling of relaxation and calmness

until I realise...

My eyes snap open as I hear the whirring of motors, a crash in the distance,

as I peer around my tree family, I see it pierce through.

Birds screech and fly away as their homes are demolished,

I see my brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, tree family fall.

The slams echo through the forest as they are chopped one by one,

I stand, but my legs fail me.

I collapse back down in grief, hug my protective tree.

My heart shatters, watching my tree family plunge to the ground.
